BINTULU (Nov 25): The unity and solidarity are key to economic, social, and political stability in a multi-ethnic society like Sarawak, said Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon.

He stressed that people, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or religion, must appreciate the value and importance of good relationships.

“Through quality relationships, it is easier for us to achieve togetherness and strengthen social harmony in our Sebauh District community.

“When understanding and togetherness become a culture, it is easier for us to address social issues and challenges in an integrated manner,” he said.

Chukpai said this during the Randau Solidariti Komuniti (RSK) event at Uma Jaya Paran, Hungei Ayu, Long Pelisit in Tubau last Saturday.

The programme was organised by the Sarawak Social Development Council in collaboration with the Bintulu Resident’s Office, Sebauh District Office and local Village, Security and Development Committee and Neighbourhood Watch Committee.

Among those present were Bintulu Resident Datu Nyurak Keti, Sebauh District officer Thadeus Ling Allu, community leaders, and village heads from Tubau, Jelalong and Sebauh.
