However, the union secretariat has yet to formally send out the respective appointment letters for the appointees’ confirmation.
The members set to be reappointed are Lt Gen Datuk Stephen Mundaw for senior vice president (SVP); David Keen Hollis (SVP); Dr Noria Tugang (SVP); and Catherine Kechendai for vice president (VP).
Dr John Francis Noyan has been elevated from VP to appointed SVP, while Audrey Wilson has been elevated from ordinary supreme executive council member to appointed VP.
New faces appointed in the lineup are Harold Unsie Liban (VP) and Formalavia Tigang, Basil Clifton Calvert, and Narok Ukin as ordinary supreme executive council members.
Being reappointed as ordinary supreme executive council members are Wilfred Mujah Aton, Leo Mamba Simpang, Margaret Philip Bedus and Graman Ringi.
SDNU president Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom told The Borneo Post yesterday that the appointment was made based on consultation with supreme executive council members following the union’s Triennial General Assembly held on Nov 15 to elect new office bearers for the 2025-2027 term.
During the meeting, SDNU created 12 bureaus, namely Special Functions; Property, Acquisition, Development and Management; Native Customary Rights Land and Graveyards; Cultures, Arts and Welfare; Sports and Recreation; Branch Management; Membership Cards; Education; SDNU History Book; Economy and Business; Taskforce and Legal; and Awards.
“An ad hoc high profile and technical committee will also be set up soon to draw a comprehensive master development plan to be presented to the Sarawak government in due course,” Mawan said.
