Queen Camilla’s Inclusion at Prince Harry’s Secret Reunion With King Charles Was “Non-Negotiable”
· CosmopolitanPrince Harry took his entire family to England and secretly reunited with King Charles on July 10, which was a pretty huge deal since Meghan Markle, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet haven’t seen His Majesty in literal years.
So, was Queen Camilla there? All signs point to yes, at least according to royal author Catherine Mayer, who told People, “She is a non-negotiable part of Charles’ life. There is no reconciliation with him without her.”
Meanwhile, a source told Vanity Fair that Camilla dropped everything to be at the meeting, and drove over from her house to Highgrove in “quite a hurry.”
“Charles wanted Camilla to be there for moral support and because she has been a pillar of strength for him throughout all the drama with Harry, and she dropped everything,” their insider said. “She told no one—not even her family. She just got in the car and headed over. They were all on a mission to keep the meeting as watertight as possible.”
Camilla and Harry have had a somewhat strained relationship over the years, but things reached peak awkward after Harry wrote about Camilla in his book, Spare, and admitted that he begged his dad not to marry her. As he put it, "We support you, we said. We endorse Camilla, we said. 'Just please don’t marry her. Just be together, Pa.' He didn’t answer. But she answered. Straight away. Shortly after our private summits with her, she began to play the long game, a campaign aimed at marriage and eventually the Crown (with Pa’s blessing, we presumed)."
Glad everyone’s getting along these days?
