If it doesn't seem obvious, here is an official warning for ya: Spoilers are ahead, so proceed with caution! (Or if you're simply too lazy to watch, read our Emily in Paris season 5 ending explainer to get caught up to speed.)
This season, Emily Cooper is faced with a major dilemma that sees her grappling with staying in Paris to work on her career, or diving all the way in with Marcello and joining him in Solitano to lead his cashmere brand's marketing team. Ultimately, Emily declines, and the pair end their relationship.
“I think that there was this kind of fairytale dream that came with Marcello,” Lily said in an interview with People. “And [Emily] really does appreciate, respect and love him as a human. But I think she acknowledged that it wasn't the life that she wanted and she wasn't done living the exploration of herself yet. And it wasn't that it would have been a bad life, it just wouldn't have been the fulfilling, correct life for her in this moment. And so I really liked that she was brave enough to make that decision. And as painful as it was, it was done with love and respect. And I appreciated the way that they both said goodbye in a sense.”
Following Emily and Marcello's split, Sylvie texts Gabriel to let him know that Emily is officially single. And making good on his promise, he sends her a postcard and invites her to join him in Greece while he has time off from his yacht chef duties.
While Lily could be annoyed that Emily has yet another love decision to make, she's actually stoked at the possibility of and Emily and Gabriel reunion. After being asked if Emily should live out her Mamma Mia! fantasies in Greece, she said, “Yeah. Why not? Hello! Look, we don't know if we're going to a sixth, but I would love to go to Greece.”
Emily in Paris season 6 has yet to get the green light buuuuuut I'm personally manifesting lush landscapes in Santorini and tons of romance for the girls.
