Smartphone users nostalgic for the good old days of the BlackBerry can now relive that experience with the Clicks Communicator.

Clicks, the brand behind the Clicks Keyboard for iPhone, announced the new Communicator smartphone ahead of CES 2026. It features a touch-sensitive physical keyboard paired with a 4.03-inch AMOLED display that offers a 1080 x 1200-pixel resolution.

The smartphone runs Android 16 with a custom Niagara Launcher, which offers quick access to messaging and productivity apps such as WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, Gmail, and so on. Users can also install any app from the Play Store.

It also gets a notification light placed around a button on the right side that’s being called the Signal Light. Users can assign different colors and patterns for messages from different apps or contacts.

The button can be used to dictate messages via voice or for quick voice notes. As mentioned earlier, the physical keyboard is touch-sensitive and can be used to scroll messages, web pages, and navigate around the interface.

The Clicks Communicator gets a single 50MP rear camera with OIS and an LED flash. At the front, there’s a 24MP selfie camera.

It comes with a 4,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for Qi2 wireless charging and a USB Type-C port. The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM with 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual-band Wi-Fi 6. It offers 256GB of internal storage with support for expansion via a MicroSD card.

The phone weighs 170g and is 12mm thick. Other features include a physical kill switch on the frame, a customisable Clicks key for shortcuts, and a 4nm MediaTek processor. The Communicator also supports swappable back covers, which are available in multiple color options.

The Clicks Communicator is slated to ship later this year and will be priced at $499. However, early adopters can reserve the phone right now for $399. The phone will be available in Clover, Onyx, and Smoke colors.
