Stray bullet from nearby lounge fight kills Frito-Lay worker inside Sam's Club

A deadly argument outside a Nashville lounge sent a bullet tearing through the metal wall of a nearby Sam’s Club, killing an innocent Frito-Lay worker as he counted products in the chip aisle, police said.
The victim, identified as 55-year-old Paris Carlock of Murfreesboro, was conducting an early-morning product inventory near the middle of the store shortly after 4 a.m. when the bullet struck him in the head.
Sam’s Club staff rushed to Carlock’s aid before he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Investigators believe the gunfire was connected to an argument that began inside Lavo Lounge on Antioch Pike, just down the street from the Sam’s Club.
Police said security removed the people involved from the lounge, but the dispute reportedly spilled outside and continued. Gunshots were heard as multiple vehicles left the area.

One of those bullets pierced the Sam’s Club’s exterior wall and struck Carlock as he worked inside, police said.
The department described Carlock as an "innocent" victim.

Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing leads, but police have not announced any arrests or released descriptions of the people or vehicles involved.
