The U.S. Open is officially underway in New York.

The final Grand Slam of the year kicked off its main draw Aug. 30 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, with third-round play beginning Friday, Sept. 4. ESPN has exclusive U.S. rights to the tournament, with matches airing across ESPN, ESPN2, ABC and ESPN Deportes and every court available to stream through the ESPN app for ESPN Unlimited subscribers.

That makes ESPN’s standalone streaming service the simplest way to follow the tournament without cable. ESPN Unlimited costs $31.99 per month and includes the company’s full suite of linear channels.

Cord-cutters can also watch much of the U.S. Open through Sling TV, which carries ESPN and ESPN2 on its Sling Orange plan. Orange currently starts at $45.99 per month and includes more than 30 live channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS and Disney Channel.

For an even cheaper option, Sling now offers an Essentials plan for $19.99 per month that includes ESPN and ESPN2. Viewers who only want Sling for the tournament can also take advantage of the service’s short-term passes. A three-day Sling Orange pass costs $9.99, while a seven-day pass costs $14.99, with both providing access to ESPN and ESPN2 without requiring a full monthly subscription.

The tournament arrives as ESPN begins a new chapter in its long-running relationship with the USTA. A 12-year media-rights agreement that went into effect this year keeps the U.S. Open on ESPN through 2037 and expands the company’s streaming coverage beginning with the 2026 tournament. ESPN has held exclusive U.S. rights to the event since 2015.

This year, that expansion includes a new “RedZone at the US Open” stream, available to ESPN Unlimited subscribers through Friday, Sept. 4. Modeled after the familiar whip-around format, the seven-hour daily feed jumps among all 16 courts to catch pivotal games, match points and other live action.
