by · Variety

Julia Roberts will receive an honorary tribute at the milestone 50th edition of the César Award, France’s equivalent to the Oscars. The ceremony will take place on Feb. 28 at the Olympia theater in Paris.

“Julia Roberts fascinates, she is a source of inspiration and an icon of world cinema,” said the Cesar academie. “Julia Roberts is not just a movie star, she’s also an icon of popular culture, and her influence extends far beyond her performances.”

The Honorary Cesar Award, which pays tribute to artists and filmmakers’ career achievements, has previously be handed out to filmmakers and actors such as David Fincher, Cate Blanchett, Penelope Cruz, Robert Redford and George Clooney.

More to come.
