‘VisionQuest’ Gets Fall Release Date on Disney+
by Ethan Shanfeld · Variety“VisionQuest,” Marvel’s long-awaited spinoff of “WandaVision,” will debut on Disney+ on October 14.
It was previously known that the show was coming fall 2026. Disney revealed the release date at the Upfronts, where the company also announced a slew of other programming news.
The series, which stars Paul Bettany as the android and former Avenger, was announced to be in development in October 2022, a year and a half after the end of the Disney+ miniseries “WandaVision,” which starred Bettany opposite Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch.

The series is being touted by Disney as the “final installment” in the trilogy that began with “WandaVision” and continued with 2024’s “Agatha All Along,” a spinoff that saw Kathryn Hahn reprise the role as the witch Agatha Harkness.
“VisionQuest” will also feature James Spader reprising his role of Ultron from “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” And the cast also includes Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire and Ruaridh Mollica. Variety also broke the news of Lauren Morais and Diane Morgan’s casting in the series.
Terry Matalas (“Star Trek: Picard”) serves as showrunner for “VisionQuest.” The eight-episode series — part of the MCU’s Phase Six — shot in the U.K.’s Pinewood Studios in 2025.
Disney’s presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday featured high-energy antics (and singing) courtesy of Olivia Rodrigo and the baseball bat-slinging Savannah Bananas. Kimmel cracked jokes in a monologue that touched on his longevity at ABC while nodding to the recent “Bachelorette” drama. “I’ve been through so much bullshit this year, it actually made me appreciate this bullshit,” Kimmel said. “You see, in order for ABC to pull you off the air, you have to throw a chair at your Mormon boyfriend!”
