Sola Media has acquired global sales rights to animated feature film “Fast Forward,” and will be unveiling first footage at the Cannes Film Market.

The project is produced by Jørgen Storm Rosenberg at 74 Entertainment, in co-production with Expanse, where Fredrik Fottland serves as animation producer. Expanse’s films include “A Mouse Hunt for Christmas,” which drew more than 2.2 million admissions across Europe.

The film is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2027, followed by the Norwegian theatrical release through SF Studios on Sept. 24, 2027.

“Fast Forward” tells the story of a society in which every year 11-year-olds enter the transformation machine and emerge as perfect adults – no messy childhood required. While most people celebrate the new technology, 8-year-old Sienna sees what’s lost when her sister returns as a complete stranger.

On the run from her own “transformation,” Sienna sets out on a daring mission: to protect childhood and bring back what the world forgot.

The film is directed by Katarina Launing, known for films “Kick It” (2014) and “Dragon Girl” (2020), and Will Ashurst, director of the “Cattle Hill” series (2020, 2023), and animation director on “A Mouse Hunt for Christmas” (2025). The script is written by Martina Cecelia Befring, whose credits include the feature film “Girls Trip” (2022), and she has also contributed as a writer to the TV series “Stayer” (2024).

Storm Rosenberg said, “ ‘Fast Forward’ is a visual tribute to the power of wonder in a world that often demands we grow up too fast. Our goal is to remind audiences of all ages that the most important machine we possess is our own imagination – and that becoming an adult doesn’t have to mean putting your inner child to sleep for good.”

“ ‘Fast Forward’ instantly stood out to us with its fresh and highly original premise. The film creates a visually rich and entertaining world for children and families while exploring meaningful themes about growing up and individuality. We strongly believe the film has strong international potential, and we are thrilled to introduce buyers to this exciting, animated adventure,” Solveig Langeland, managing director of Sola Media, said.
