‘Law and Order’ to Be Renewed for Season 26 at NBC

The news will no doubt offer relief to fans, as the show had been firmly on the bubble going into NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation to advertisers. Last minute details are still being finalized, but the Wolf Entertainment drama will make it through to the 2026-2027 broadcast season. The show previously ran for 20 seasons at NBC before it was shockingly canceled in 2010, only to be revived in 2022.

“Law and Order” has featured an incredibly wide ranging ensemble cast over the course of its run. Stars like Jerry Orbach, S. Epatha Merkerson, Sam Waterston, Benjamin Bratt, Angie Harmon, Michael Imperioli, Dennis Farina, Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson, and Jeffrey Donovan have all called the series home.
Hugh Dancy, Tony Goldwyn, Odelya Halevi, David Ajala, Reid Scott and Maura Tierney make up the current main cast of the series. Dick Wolf is creator and executive producer. Rick Eid, Alex Hall, Anastasia Puglisi, and Peter Jankowski are executive producers. The series is produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment.
NBCUniversal will make its upfront presentation to advertisers on May 11 in New York City. NBC has already made decisions on its primetime scripted lineup, including comedies “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” “Happy’s Place,” and “St. Denis Medical,” as well as dramas “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” The broadcaster previously canceled the sophomore medical drama “Brilliant Minds” and freshman comedy “Stumble.”
