Internet and mobile services to be suspended ahead of PTI protest

· Daily Times

The federal government is reportedly planning a partial suspension of internet and mobile phone services from November 23 in light of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest scheduled for November 24.

Sources indicate that the suspension could impact Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and several districts in Punjab.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is expected to implement a firewall on mobile internet services starting November 20, which will significantly reduce internet speeds and limit downloads on social media apps.

Additional measures, including a complete shutdown of internet and mobile services in specific areas, are being considered based on the situation’s progression.
