7yo Student Left With Swollen Face & Injured Lips After Assault at School, Headmaster Arrested

by · WORLD OF BUZZ

A seven-year-old student was allegedly assaulted at a school on 9 March, leaving the child injured and traumatised.

According to a family member, the boy attended school as usual that morning after being dropped off by his older brother, while his mother stayed home to care for a baby. Several hours later, the family received a call informing them that the child had been found injured in the school toilet.

His parents rushed to the school and found him with injuries to his mouth and a swollen face. He was later taken to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for treatment.

The child reportedly claimed that he was beaten by the school’s headmaster. The family subsequently lodged a police report and called for a fair investigation, according to a viral Facebook post.

Police have since arrested the school headmaster

Johor Bahru North District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Radin Ramlan Radin Taha said the department received a report from the victim’s 40-year-old father at about 9:46 AM.

According to Radin’s official statement issued last night (14 March), initial investigations found that the seven-year-old student was allegedly beaten by the 48-year-old suspect at around 7:39 AM while at the school canteen on the same day.

Acting on the information received, a team from the Criminal Investigation Division arrested the suspect within the compound of the Johor Bahru North District Police Headquarters at approximately 4:55 PM to assist with the investigation.

Radin Ramlan said checks showed that the suspect had no prior criminal record. He added that an initial urine screening test conducted on the suspect also returned negative results.

The suspect was later brought before the court on Wednesday and remanded for three days to facilitate investigations.

After the remand period ended, the suspect was released on police bail.

Authorities confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, which relates to offences involving the abuse, neglect, abandonment, or exposure of a child.
