PAS Extends Christmas Greetings to M’sian Christians, Lauds It as a Vital Part of Country’s Rich Culture

In a statement yesterday (December 24), the party’s secretary-general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, said he hopes the celebration will be marked by joy, peace and safety, as in previous years.

Takiyuddin also took the opportunity to highlight the importance of the Christmas celebration in Malaysia, dubbing it the celebration that adds colours to life experiences.
“It can also contribute to the formation of a more mature, respectful and considerate community identity.”
“PAS celebrates and welcomes the enriching aspects of this experience and its positive impact on building a better-quality, moral Malaysian society based on noble and pure religious values.”
Takiyuddin mentioned that Islam and Christianity share many similarities in terms of basic beliefs and practices, which contribute to creating a better country.
“The belief in monotheism, the sharing of prophets and messengers, the noble position of Maryam (Mary), life after death, the rewards of heaven and hell, the practice of fasting and the excellence of charity are among the similarities that aim to shape human character and thus be useful to oneself or society.”
At the end of the statement, Takiyuddin said he believes that Islam and Christianity’s moral strengths play a major role in creating a world that is peaceful and free from moral decay and war.
