Banting School Case: Victim’s Dad Says Daughter Was Stabbed 14 Times, Doesn’t Believe She Was Target
by Didi · WORLD OF BUZZEarlier today, we reported that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) confirmed a stabbing incident at a school in Banting, where a Form 3 student was stabbed by a teenage girl.
The incident went viral after a video circulated on social media showing students fleeing the school grounds in panic while the suspect was seen walking around holding a knife.
Victim’s father claimed she was stabbed 14 times
In a recent update by Harian Metro, the victim’s father, Mohd Firuz, said doctors informed him that his daughter had sustained multiple injuries, including an injury to her left lung.
He also claimed that she suffered around 14 stab wounds, most of them to her back, as well as injuries to her face and head.
“When I arrived, her condition was quite serious. Not long after, they took her for a scan to determine the extent of her injuries. Her left lung was injured. She was conscious and able to talk,” he said.
He added that his daughter knew the 15-year-old suspect, as the two had been classmates last year.
“I don’t think my daughter was the target”
However, Mohd Firuz believes his daughter was not the intended target. He also said she had never complained about being bullied or having any issues with other students.
“I don’t think my daughter was the target. I think the suspect was trying to attack someone else, but my daughter just happened to be the closest. Maybe because she has a bigger build, she didn’t manage to run away in time,” he said.
While saddened by the incident, Mohd Firuz said his priority now is his daughter’s recovery. He also hopes security measures at schools will be improved.
“After seeing what happened today, I think security needs to be strengthened. There should be proper checks at the school entrance before anyone is allowed inside,” he said.
The Selangor State Education Department (JPN) has also confirmed that the suspect has been arrested by police.
