Malaysia Airports: KLIA Standardises RM2 E-Hailing Entry Fee At Terminals 1 & 2, Effective Today!

by · WORLD OF BUZZ

Malaysia Airports has announced that Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will now charge a standard RM2 entry fee for e-hailing vehicles at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

The fee was previously RM3 at Terminal 1 and RM2.16 at Terminal 2, with the new standardised rate taking effect today.

New standardised rate aims for smoother pick-ups

Meanwhile, the upgraded e-hailing facilities at Terminal 1, which were introduced in August 2026, have also shown improvements in operations, according to Berita Harian.

Malaysia Airports said the standardised fee is intended to make things more convenient for passengers and e-hailing drivers, while helping to ensure smoother pick-ups at both terminals.

“Within just one month of implementation, 99.3% of e-hailing drivers now complete passenger pick-ups and exit within the stipulated 10-minute grace period, compared to 49.4% previously.
“The number of vehicles entering the passenger pick-up lane daily has also decreased by 13.5%, from 8,124 to 7,024 vehicles,” it said.

The upgraded facilities have also helped improve the overall flow of e-hailing operations, with fewer unauthorised activities, unnecessary vehicle movements, and vehicles stopping for longer than necessary.

Only authorised e-hailing vehicles allowed in designated pick-up areas

At Terminal 1, the upgraded system includes a Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) system linked to Passenger Information Display Screens (PIDS), self-service kiosks, dedicated waiting and pick-up areas, and on-ground staff.

It also allows for stricter access monitoring to ensure that only authorised e-hailing vehicles use the designated pick-up areas.

The system has increased peak-hour processing capacity from 302 to 660 vehicles per hour, allowing for faster vehicle turnover and smoother passenger pick-ups.

E-hailing vehicles will continue to have a maximum of 10 minutes in the passenger pick-up area to keep traffic moving and ensure the pick-up bays remain available for other vehicles.
