According to Kosmo!, the woman also claimed that she and her friend struggled to get help after the incident, as they were directed from one agency to another.

In another post, the woman said she understood if the situation fell outside the agencies’ scope of duties, but was still left wondering who they could turn to for help.

“Everything happened in a matter of seconds because it suddenly started raining while we were waiting for the tow truck to arrive. We went to the police station, and they told us to call the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba). Bomba then told us to contact the Civil Defence Force (APM).
“The car was swept away from its original spot and carried further downstream. We tried calling Bomba again today. Do you know what they said? They couldn’t help because there was no one available. So, who are we supposed to turn to for help? It’s really heartbreaking,” she wrote.

Photos of the incident have since been circulating online, showing how a white Proton Saga was initially left hanging on the edge of a drain before being swept further in by the strong currents.

The car was eventually carried downstream and got stuck inside a drain tunnel. At the time of writing, no official updates have been issued by the relevant authorities.
