“Hard work was worth it” – M’sian Mum Melts Hearts After Using Dishwashing Wages To Fulfil Daughter’s Long-Awaited Wish

Recently, a touching Threads post by Malaysian mum @nurdiyanazulkefli resonated with many netizens after she shared the lengths she went to just to put a smile on her child’s face, reminding many of the little sacrifices parents make out of love.

Hard work that pays off in smiles

The user shared a glimpse into her reality as a mother juggling extra responsibilities. Marking her sixth day working a part-time job washing dishes, she revealed that despite her main office salary coming in the next day, she wanted to immediately fulfill a long-standing request from her eldest daughter.

Using her hard-earned daily wages tucked away in her car’s compartment, she treated her children to fried chicken and apple pies, a simple treat her daughter had been eyeing for a long time.

“Day 6 of part-time dishwashing. The utmost peak of a mother. My office salary only comes in tomorrow, but today I am able to bring my children to eat the apple pie and fried chicken they’ve wanted for a long time. Kakak has been requesting this for ages. Alhamdulillah, thank You Allah for Your provision.
“All the tiredness from washing dishes this morning vanished when Kakak kept repeating, ‘Thank you mom, for bringing me out to eat,’” her post read.

“What kept me going was my children”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, the mother emphasised that she was simply sharing a genuine moment between her and her children, hoping it would inspire others.

“What kept me going was my children. I was tired, but I knew I had to keep going to give them what they needed.
“When my daughter thanked me for the meal, I felt really happy and touched. It made all the hard work feel worth it,” she said.

Addressing the overwhelming response online, she also left a clear disclaimer clarifying that she was never looking for sympathy or donations but merely documenting her family’s journey.

She then expressed heartfelt gratitude for the wave of positivity and encouragement sent her way by netizens.

A gentle message for hardworking parents everywhere

Concluding her reflections, the dedicated mother offered words of encouragement to other parents navigating their own daily struggles:

“To all parents who work hard every day, I know it can be tiring. Just keep going. Your family sees your effort, and every little thing you do for them matters.”
