Investigation after man's body found at recycling centre

An investigation is under way after the body of a man was discovered at a recycling facility in Dublin on Friday evening.

Gardaí have named the man as Andrew Haire, who was 35, and was known to be availing of welfare and homeless services in the Dublin and Cork city centres.

He was found at the facility in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, after 9pm on Friday.

Gardaí say the Office of the Chief State Pathologist and the Garda National Technical Bureau were notified and Mr Haire's body was removed from the scene.

A post-mortem was carried out yesterday and gardaí say the results will not be released for operational reasons.

They also said they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding his death and a senior investigating officer has been appointed.

A family liaison officer has been appointed to assist Mr Haire’s family.

Gardaí are appealing for information on Mr Haire’s movements between Friday 17 and Friday 24 July.

They say it is believed that Mr Haire was in Dublin, Kilkenny and Cork city centres during this time.
