German police said five people were killed and others injured in a shooting in a youth welfare facility in the northern city of Stade.

Two people have been arrested.

One of the detainees is the ‌suspected shooter, and the ⁠role of ‌the other is currently unclear, a police spokesperson said, adding that no other suspects were ⁠at large.

It is unclear ⁠how many people have been injured, he said.

All of the victims are adults, police said.

Stade, ‌a town of just below ⁠50,000 people, is located ‌to the west of Hamburg.

Police said there is no further danger to the public.
