Remove Robinson

When judges forget their purpose, which is to uphold the law and impose appropriate punishments when required, it is time for a change; their utility has ended and the people will suffer (“Judge loose cannon,” Aug. 28).

Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Janice Robinson is the perfect example of someone who has taken advantage of her position to side with accused criminals. She is an example of a liberal extremist casting aside the public’s need for justice.

The bar association should punish Robinson and New York City should remove her from the bench.

BQE plan a bust

Up to 10 years — which probably will end up being double — and $4 billion does not seem to be a great plan for extending the life of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway for only 40 years (“Mam’s plan to BQEase problem,” Aug. 25).

This sounds like a very precarious scheme for a temporary solution. At the very least, a different plan that will last longer should be considered.

Hulk’s hate

Mark Ruffalo needs to stick to acting until he does some serious research (“Incredible hate from Ruffalo,” Liel Leibovitz, Aug. 25).

He accuses Oracle of selling technology to Israel, which he says is complicit in genocide and apartheid.  Does Ruffalo even understand what genocide is? When Israel needs to defend itself, it warns the people in Gaza where and when the strikes will occur. We need to stop demonizing Israel, a country that only fights to exist.

It is also ironic that when Ruffalo got his big break playing Hulk, it was Jews who were responsible for his success.

Get a job, whiners

Are you kidding me? The economy could hardly be better (“Midterm voters: It’s the economy,” Aug. 27).

The Nasdaq and Dow at record highs. Affordability has already been enhanced by no tax on overtime, tips and most Social Security. President Trump and his One Big ­Beautiful Bill Act also prevented a big tax hike.

If affordability is a problem, put your big boy or girl shoes on and get a job. When you work, you will be fine.

The socialists offer nothing but lies and misery.

Scroll safely

As a psychologist and college professor, I have seen the ravages of what Facebook and Instagram have created for teenagers as well as adults (“Safety net full of holes,” Aug. 27).

Until we have a better solution, Meta needs to post about the dangers of inappropriate usage of its technology. It would be similar to the warning that appears on cigarette packs sold in the United States. At some point, some folks might heed the warning.

Putting vics last

How can Gov. Hochul just decide which federal law enforcers she’ll allow cooperation with and which she won’t (“An eye for an ‘ICE,’ ” Aug. 26)?

It’s bad enough New York is a sanctuary state, where those here illegally have nothing to worry about, regardless of the lack of any background check that might show they were convicted of horrendous crimes.

At what point will the Democrats running this state focus on victim rights rather than enacting laws that benefit criminals?
