When people returned to the office post-pandemic, cozy home clothes gradually leaked into work life. Dress shirts transitioned to polos and later tees. Trousers turned into jeans and the occasional sweats. Some completely lost a sense of what looking “put-together” means.
Recently however, men’s suiting seems to have made a resurgence, perhaps because dressing up instills us with a sense of confidence and empowers workflow (while sweatpants instead inspires a nap).
“Men’s suiting is having a real renaissance because guys are ready to dress up again, but in a way that feels modern and effortless,” celebrity stylist Sammy J Watts told the Post. “It’s no longer reserved for the boardroom or a black tie invitation. Today, you can wear a beautifully-tailored jacket with a crisp T-shirt and pair it with sleek loafers, minimalist sneakers or suede boots. It still looks incredibly elevated.”
Watts emphasized, “The new approach to suiting is less about following rigid rules and more about expressing personal style.”
