Los Angeles couple and young son found shot dead in murder-suicide in burning home

A married couple and their young son were found shot dead inside a burning home in an apparent murder-suicide, cops have said.

Deputies from the East LA Sheriff’s Station and personnel from the LA Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in Maywood at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

After crews extinguished the flames, emergency responders conducted a search of the home for potential victims.

Inside a bedroom, officers discovered three deceased individuals suffering from gunshot wounds –– a man and a woman in their late 40s along with a boy under the age of 10.

All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators recovered a firearm inside the home. “The incident appears to be domestic violence in nature.

“The two adults are married, and the child is their biological child,” said the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) in a statement.

Officials have not released additional details regarding the sequence of events or the identities of the deceased pending family notifications.
