Media treats Mahmoud Khalil like a Nelson Mandela or MLK. He’s just a grifter

Hamas cheerleader Mahmoud Khalil’s much-anticipated memoir, “No Land to Stand On: Notes From Detention,” dropped Tuesday and, as expected, the Columbia University terror fanboy paints himself as every inch the innocent martyr.

The reviews are in. And the tome, fit for bathroom reading, has been greeted with gushing praise from complicit terrorist-hugging media and Khalil’s army of mainly young, vicious leftist disciples.

All treat the man briefly detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement as the second coming of Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela.

The New York Times labeled the book “A Quietly Shattering Memoir by a Man Detained by ICE For His Beliefs,” as if it were just a matter of civil disagreement.

In actuality, Khalil’s “beliefs” are a bloodthirsty brand of Jew-hatred that has encouraged unprecedented numbers of violent acts on college campuses and beyond.

He can believe what he wants, but that doesn’t mean the United States has to put up with it. We have every right to deport him to Algeria, where he holds citizenship, or his native Syria.

The Guardian used its review not only to advance Khalil’s persecution complex, but to take shots at all efforts to rid this country of undesirables. The paper writes that his holding in custody “is a damning snapshot of the Trump administration’s creeping authoritarianism and the cruelty of its immigration enforcement policy.”

Ironically, Khalil’s large legal team, which includes members of the American Civil Liberties Union, argues that sending him to either nation would put his life in danger due to political turmoil and his newfound fame. He isn’t wanted there. So much for his claims of American aggression.

The slavish adherence to Khalil’s revisionist history trudges on like a warped freight train. With no mention of the way Columbia’s protests that he led attacked and harassed Jews.

Take Khalil’s poor-me handbook with a silo of salt. It’s clear he desperately wants to maintain the fame and potential fortune the West offers him. But he does this by transforming terrorists into freedom fighters and racists into defenders of “free speech.”

Khalil is not a victim. He’s a grifter taking advantage of a country far more open and tolerant than the ones he celebrates.
