Rams finally get ‘good’ injury news with massive Myles Garrett update

· California Post

The Los Angeles Rams have been hit hard with injuries this season, particularly this week.

But they’ve received encouraging news regarding star edge rusher Myles Garrett, which NFL insider Ian Rapoport conveyed during a Friday appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”.

“I was told for Myles Garrett that is likely that he returns to practice next week,” Rapoport said.

“I believe that would be seven or eight weeks from the injury. I think that’s seven weeks from the injury. So [Garrett] could potentially play Week 8… but Myles Garrett likely returning to practice next week is actual good injury news for the Rams,” he added.

Garrett likely returning to practice next week doesn’t guarantee he’ll be available for Los Angeles’ game against the Chargers next weekend, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.

Garrett needed arthroscopic knee surgery and was sent to Injured Reserve after the Rams’ Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Los Angeles needed some good news after what has been an insane streak of injuries.

Key defensive players Kobie Turner and Poona Ford are both missing extended periods of time with serious injuries, Davante Adams will miss around two months with a torn hamstring, and Puka Nacua injured his calf during Thursday’s practice.

Perhaps this positive update on Garrett’s status can turn the tide, so that the 2-4 Los Angeles squad can begin getting healthier as the season progresses.

They will play an equally desperate Raiders team on Sunday before facing the Chargers in Week 8.
