Skip the $120 lash extensions — this at-home fix is better and under $35

· New York Post

In my mind, there have always been two options to achieve long lashes: pay over $100 for salon extensions, or play around with lash strips and sticky glue for hours until I get it right. (Update: it’s been five years, and I have yet to get it right).

Not to mention, the process of getting lash extensions in a salon may involve chemicals like polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) that keep the extra hair intact for weeks. Solvents and alcohols like acetone or gamma-butyrolactone are often involved as well in prepping the hair or dissolving glue from a previous treatment.

A pricey chemical treatment was out of the question. I had given up hope on successfully applying falsies. So I decided to rely solely on my natural lashes — until I came across FlutterHabit STICKtionary Bestie Self Adhesive Eyelashes Kit.

The lashes come pre-glued, meaning there’s no need to worry about tacky residue getting all over your fingers. Another major difference is that the extensions are applied underneath (not over) your natural lashes so that they fit seamlessly without any trimming.

The self-adhesive product includes four individual lashes that can be applied to your lashes in seconds by using a tweezer or your fingers. Admittedly, it took me a few tries to get used to placing them on my eye, but with sufficient practice, I’m confident that I’ll become a pro.

The kit comes with five pairs of lashes. Each can be worn between 5-7 days and even last through sweat, showers and crying. I’ve done all three in the past week, and I can confirm that they held up beautifully.

They’re sold in a variety of styles, some that are more natural and others that are dramatic cat-eyes.

I’m not the only one who’s a fan. One Amazon reviewer raved, “I’ve been getting lash extensions for 8 years and I decided to try these. They are amazing. I honestly think I’m switched over for good. The glue is tacky and very sturdy. I’ve never ever found a set of falsies that actually work and end up throwing them away.”

They continued, “These do not feel like falsies they feel like lash extensions. They took me minutes to apply. Pre glued is where it’s at. I can’t wait to try the brunette!!”

I also love how the brand sells a Lash Removal Balm that gently breaks down the adhesive and helps the product slide off, without tugging on your natural lashes.
