Giannis Antetokounmpo next team odds: Knicks, Spurs looming with potential Bucks trade in play
· New York PostIt’s anyone’s guess where Giannis Antetokounmpo will be after the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline.
If the predictions markets are any indication, there’s a lot still up in the air for the Bucks star.
Despite trade rumors swirling, Milwaukee remains the most likely team Antetokounmpo will be suiting up for come that date, according to Kalshi, a New York-based financial exchange and prediction market.
The Bucks reflect a 29 percent chance to retain him beyond the deadline as of this writing.
Antetokounmpo, who went down with a calf injury on Wednesday night, has begun talking with the Bucks about his future with the franchise and “discussing whether his best fit is staying or a move elsewhere,” according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, with a resolution “expected in the coming weeks.”
As expected, teams are lining up.
The Knicks, who were rumored to have mutual interest from Antetokounmpo last summer, are the favorites to land the two-time MVP if he bolts from Milwaukee with a 28 percent chance to pull off a blockbuster trade for him.
The Spurs, who could pair Antetokounmpo with Victor Wembanyama to form one of the best big-man combos the NBA has ever seen, have the third-best chances (15 percent) to be his next team.
The Hawks (nine percent), Rockets (seven percent) and Heat (six percent) are the only other teams with odds better than five percent.
As of Thursday evening, the market, which opened on Wednesday night, has drawn more than $277,000 in bets at Kalshi.
After starting out 4-1, the Bucks have lost 12 of their last 17 games, including eight of their last 10, which would land them outside the Eastern Conference play-in and playoff picture if the season ended today.

Antetokounmpo has been his typical MVP-like self this season — when healthy — averaging 30.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists on 64 percent shooting.
After already missing six games this season, Antetokounmpo is expected to miss two-to-four weeks with his calf strain.
