Jets vs. Titans prediction: NFL Week 1 odds, picks, best bets for season opener
· New York PostOpening the season in Nashville as slim 1.5-point underdogs to the Titans, the Jets enter Sunday with a much-needed fresh start after a nightmare season marked by losing streaks.
Both teams have struggled to kick off September on a positive note.
Gang Green hasn’t secured a Week 1 victory since 2023, while Tennessee’s last opening-week win dates back to 2020.
The over/under sits at 38.5 total points, with the Titans propped at -124 on the moneyline.
Jets vs. Titans prediction, best bet
The offseason brought major changes for Gang Green, with coordinators on both sides of the ball dismissed.
The Titans also cleaned house and now feature a pair of familiar names, with head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll aiming to elevate Cam Ward’s sophomore campaign.
Ward is flanked by a receiving corps featuring ex-Giant Wan’Dale Robinson, seasoned veteran Calvin Ridley, and highly touted rookie Carnell Tate.
While preseason action offered only a limited number of reps, the former top pick struggled to make plays downfield, specifically on passes of ten yards or more.
Aaron Glenn can exploit that weakness.
Especially with him now assuming defensive play-calling duties alongside new coordinator Brian Duker, I expect him to put together a call sheet that’ll counter Tennessee’s rebuilding offense and frustrate Ward.
Minkah Fitzpatrick’s addition, despite being past his prime, gives Glenn a steady, above-average starter to lead the secondary.

Operating behind a revamped offensive line, Geno Smith should have no trouble picking apart a shaky Titans secondary that Pro Football Focus graded out near the bottom of the league at 30th overall.
With Frank Reich now managing the offense paired with hallmark playmakers Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, along with Adonai Mitchell’s emergence, expect Gang Green to execute splash plays when needed.
Forgive me in advance, I’m backing the Jets to start 1-0.
