Rays helped Freddy Peralta bloom in ways Mets couldn’t

Freddy Peralta, who went from Mets bust to unhittable Rays starter, has a short explanation for how he regained his usual form in Tampa Bay, and even bettered it.

“I have Kyle,” Peralta said.

Peralta was talking about vaunted Rays pitching coach, Kyle Snyder, who’s a big part of the secret sauce in one of MLB’s perennially surprising stories.

“He showed me stuff I wasn’t doing right,” said Peralta, who’ll start Game 2 vs. the Yankees on Monday night. “It wasn’t anything crazy.”
