As Berri reconciles with Hezbollah, Israel opens fire on Amal

Even before the April 8 cease-fire agreement, the speaker of Parliament believed the outcome of the war could be favorable for the Amal-Hezbollah alliance.

Nabih Berri on the front lines? The Amal movement, led by the parliament speaker, has announced that Israel killed about 20 members since the beginning of the war in Lebanon. While most of them belong to the party's scout association (the Islamic association al-Rissala), the latest targeted Israeli strikes seem to carry a message. Especially now, Berri appears to have once again aligned himself behind Hezbollah, a group he had initially harshly criticized for its decision to enter the regional war.
