Mother with Fresno ties identified as woman killed at Sacramento trampoline park

Coroner’s officials on Monday released the name of a woman with ties to Fresno killed in what her family calls a domestic violence shooting Saturday afternoon at a Sacramento indoor trampoline park.

Samantha Sue Cromwell, 29, was killed in the shooting at the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. Cromwell’s most recent city of residence was not available.

Edward Lee Daniel Tucker Jr., 36, of Fresno was arrested on suspicion of homicide in the shooting, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Tucker on Monday afternoon remained in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail. He’s been deemed ineligible for bail. Jail and court records show Tucker’s first court appearance had not yet been scheduled.

His arraignment hearing is expected take place Tuesday or Wednesday in Sacramento Superior Court.

The deadly shooting was reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the indoor trampoline park in the 1700 Block of Arden Way across the street from Arden Fair mall.

Police said officers arrived at the shooting scene and found Cromwell and another woman, both of them with at least one gunshot wound.

Officers rendered emergency medical aid to Cromwell until medics arrived, police said. The medics pronounced Cromwell dead at the scene.

The other woman wounded in the shooting was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Police said on Sunday that she was listed in critical condition at the hospital.

Nobody inside the trampoline park had been shot when first responders arrived at the scene, according to dispatch audio reviewed by The Sacramento Bee. Police called for reinforcements in part to help with the crowd as more than 100 people, including children, were initially in the area.

Alyvia Cromwell, Cromwell’s sister, started a GoFundMe online fundraiser to gather donations to help the family pay for funeral costs and support the homicide victim’s 8-year-old son. She wrote on the GoFundMe page that her sister was shot and killed due to a domestic violence situation.

The victim’s family told ABC10 that Cromwell was at the Urban Air trampoline park celebrating her son’s birthday, and that Tucker was her former husband.

Public records show Cromwell’s current city of residence was in Fresno, but she also had previously lived in Sacramento County most of her life until 2024. Tucker was listed as possibly Cromwell’s husband in public records.
