Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Daniel Svensson from Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old left back has done quite well for the German club, and he could cost around €35 million in the summer. According to a report from Fussball Daten, the two Premier League clubs are interested in securing his signature.
It is no secret that Liverpool needs more depth in the left-back department. Andrew Robertson has decided to leave the club in the summer, and they need to replace him. The Scottish international has been exceptional for the club, and replacing him will not be easy.
Even though they have invested in Milos Kerkez, they need more depth in that area. They cannot expect to get through a whole season with the Hungarian as the club’s only left-back. Svensson has four goals and two assists this season.
On the other hand, Arsenal could lose Myles Lewis-Skelly due to the lack of gametime in the summer. They will need another option in his absence, and the Swedish International could be ideal for them. However, he will also want to play regularly. It remains to be seen whether Svenson is willing to accept the role of a squad player at Arsenal.
The opportunity to play in the Premier League can be quite exciting for any player. The 24-year-old will certainly be tempted to join a big club. Arsenal and Liverpool have the financial muscle to pay the asking price as well. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
The 24-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes for English football, and he could be a key player in the right team.
