Caroline Ellison, government witness in FTX crypto scandal, gets 2 years in prison

Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Caroline Ellison, a key government witness in the collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, was given a two-year prison sentence for her role in the scandal described as one of the biggest in U.S. history.

"I've seen a lot of co-operators in 30 years. I've never seen one quite like Ms. Ellison," Judge Lewis Kaplan during the sentencing hearing as he commented on her apparent remorsefulness, Bloomberg reported.
