Concertgoer dies after apparent fall at Madison Square Garden
by Danielle Haynes · UPIJune 21 (UPI) -- A man apparently fell to his death during a rock concert at Madison Square Garden, the New York Police Department said.
Police said the 51-year-old sustained fatal injuries consistent with a fall during a Goose concert on Saturday night.
WABC-TV in New York City reported the man was unconscious after the fall and was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.
Police sources told CBS News he fell from the 300 level of the venue.
Goose, a jam band, issued a statement early Sunday about the incident.
"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight's show," the band said. "We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone affected.
"Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support."
