Police ID suspect in Ohio festival shooting, ask for help
· UPIJune 10 (UPI) -- Police have named a suspect in a shooting Saturday at a neighborhood festival in Toledo, Ohio, and are asking for the public's help in locating him and identifying an alleged "second shooter," they said Wednesday. Twelve people were injured in the shooting.
The first suspect is Ka Nye Taylor, 20, the Toledo Police said Wednesday in a Facebook post. Taylor is wanted on 11 counts of felonious assault in connection with the shooting at the Old West End Festival. He is described as a Black male who is 5-foot-11 and weighs 130 pounds.
The police also posted a photo of the other suspect on Facebook and asked the public to reach out by calling or texting tips to 419-255-1111. They said Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 available for information leading to an arrest, and that the U.S. Marshal Service is offering an award of up to $5,000.
Police said the shooting started with "a dispute involving two rival groups," NBC News reported.
Lt. Dan Gerken said Saturday that the oldest victim is 61 years old and the youngest is 14, while most of the victims were in their early 20s.
"While investigators believe some of the victims are intentionally targeted, the majority of those injured appear to have been innocent bystanders caught up in this senseless act of violence," said Michael Troendle, Toledo police chief, NBC reported.
All the victims are expected to survive.
