Trumps picks Pam Bondi for attorney general after withdrawal of Matt Gaetz

Nov. 21 (UPI) -- President-elect Donald Trump nominated former Florida attorney general Pam Bondi for U.S. Attorney General late on Thursday after his first pick, former U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, withdrew from consideration.

Bondi, currently a lawyer in private practice, served as Florida's attorney general from 2011 to 2019. Her nomination would have to be approved by the Senate.
