Duchess Meghan Markle has announced the delay of her anticipated Netflix series in light of the serious wildfires tearing through California. While gearing up to launch 'With Love' on January 15, the Duchess had to put the brakes on as the intense California fires devoured over 30,000 acres in Los Angeles County, with the tragic death toll reaching 16.

The raging blaze, which could rank as one of the worst disasters in American history with losses topping $135 billion, has forced thousands from their homes, some being high-profile names like Paris Hilton and Anthony Hopkins. In a heartwarming response, Prince Harry and Meghan visited those affected by the calamity at a meal distribution centre in LA.

During their emotional visit captured by Fox 11, they embraced locals and conversed with first responders at Pasadena Community Centre. Recognising the urgent need for attention on the crisis, the Duchess, in collaboration with Netflix, decided to push the release of her show back to March 4.

Emphasising compassion, Meghan expressed thanks to Netflix for their understanding: "I'm thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California."

Netflix's companion site Tudum has offered a glimpse into Meghan's new show, describing it as a mix of "practical how-to's and candid conversation with friends, new and old.", reports the Mirror.

They penned: "Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same."

The Sussexes have also been playing hosts at their Montecito home, offering refuge to friends and loved ones displaced by the nearby wildfires. It's understood that Harry and Meghan have been actively supporting those affected by the fires, contributing essentials such as clothing, children's items, and other necessities.

In a heartfelt statement, they expressed: "In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighbourhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centres, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued. If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas."

"If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbours to see if they need help evacuating. Some families and people have been left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children's toys and clothing, and other essentials. The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need."
