Dion’s status to ignite transfer options
by Lovemore Moyo · KickOffGolden Arrows striker Junior Dion’s scoring form has placed him into the market basket made further attractive by his contract status and due application for permanent residence.
Dion has continued his scoring form at Arrows from where he left off last term igniting speculation of a move to the better resourced Gauteng clubs.
His name has been suggested to all the Big Three in the PSL.

The 27-year-old has started his second season at Arrows with four goals in seven appearances.
This has pushed his total for the club to 19 in 40 appearances maintaining the desired pace of scoring in every second appearance.
Of interest is that Dion is now into the last 10 months of his contract at Arrows.
The Ivorian joined Abafana Bes’thende at the beginning of last season at the recommendation of then head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
He had spent the first half of the 2024/25 season without any goal for AmaZulu before heading back to Marumo Gallants where he scored thrice.
So, at the start of last season the demand for his services was mild.
While at Arrows, Dion has grown his value to such levels that he attracted interest from abroad accompanied by solid offers which came in during the off-season.
The offers are said to have been good enough, but no moves materialised leaving him to begin his contract run down.
As the clock keeps ticking, Dion’s admirers have considerations to make about whether to pay a transfer now or have him for free at the end of the season.
Should he continue banging goals and improve on his numbers from last season he will have upped his value.
His deal at Arrows has no option and so will run up at the end of June.
Based on that he will be 28 in October, the next contract that he signs will be the most rewarding that he has ever had.
His case on the domestic scene will be helped by that he will become available on a non-foreigner registration.
Dion has already spent five years in South Africa making him eligible to apply for permanent residence.

With a PR, he will be able to be registered on a ‘local’ making him even more attractive to clubs with foreign quota matters to consider.
The Ivorian arrived in South Africa from Botswana club Jwaneng Galaxy five years ago.
