Despite his return from a long-term injury, Siyabonga Ngezana is not expected to feature for his club, FCSB, until 2027.

Ngezana returned to training with his teammates this month after spending a lengthy period on the sidelines due to a knee injury that required surgery.

The South African star has not featured in a competitive match since May 2026, which ultimately cost him a potential place in Bafana Bafana's 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.

Nevertheless, Ngezana has now fully recovered from his injury and was recently reintegrated into training with the rest of the FCSB squad after several weeks of individual sessions.

However, despite his recovery, the centre-back will reportedly not feature for his club for the remainder of the year, according to foreign reports.

According to DigiSport, FCSB can only register Ngezana to play again during the January 2027 registration period.

The club signed Karlo Muhar in September 2026, meaning it had to remove one foreign player from its registration list. Ngezana, who was injured at the time, was the player removed.

The new coaching staff, led by Laurentiu Reghecampf, has decided that Ngezana will be registered again in January, as he is a key part of their plans.
