Paseo Verde wins state Little League championship

Paseo Verde Little League is returning to regionals.

The team defeated Spring Valley 5-2 Sunday at Grand Slam Park to claim the Nevada state championship, punching a ticket to the Little League Baseball Mountain Region Tournament.

Regional play will be held Aug. 8-14 at San Bernardino, California, with the winner earning a spot in next month’s World Series at South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Paseo Verde also won the state title in 2024, following with a regional crown that sent the team to the World Series, where it went 2-2.

The LLWS is scheduled for Aug. 19-30.
