by Akiya Dillon / Las Vegas Review-Journal · Las Vegas Review-JournalA son killed his father inside an east Las Vegas Valley apartment Tuesday, according to police.
The Metropolitan Police Department received multiple 911 calls just after 4 p.m., in which people reported that a man had been shot, Homicide Lt. Robert Price said during an evening media briefing. When officers arrived at the scene, the Canyon Club Apartments near East Sahara Avenue and South Eastern Avenue, they found a man in his 40s suffering a gunshot wound, police said.
Price said the victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medial Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect, a man in his 20s who is the son of the victim, fled after the shooting and was found in the area and arrested afterward.
According to Price, the two men had a dispute before the shooting.
The lieutenant said he was unaware of any prior calls to the residence and could not provide additional details about the suspect’s identity because the investigation was still in its early stages.
