Las Vegas fire departments send support to Ward fire in Northern Nevada

On Sunday, Southern Nevada Fire Departments responded to a State request to help in responding to the Ward Fire located 9 miles southwest of Ely, Nevada.

Brian O’Neal,Deputy Fire Chief/Emergency Manager, said in a release sent Sunday, ‘The crews are expected to arrive around 10 p.m. tonight, receive a briefing, and start working on their structure protection assignment tomorrow. They are expected to be gone up to 14 days.’

The Ward Fire is currently at 5,717 acres and 0% contained.Henderson Fire Department, North Las Vegas Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire Rescue and Clark County Fire Department will be providing engines and staff.
