Mitch Marner continues his playoff dominance with record-setting hat trick
by Adam Hill / Las Vegas Review-Journal · Las Vegas Review-JournalMitch Marner had already erased the doubts about his ability to perform in the playoffs by helping lead the Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final in his first year in the organization.
Now he’s on the verge of becoming a postseason legend after netting a hat trick in Game 3 for the Knights at T-Mobile Arena.
Marner scored three times and added an assist, all in the second period as the Knights took a 4-0 lead into the second intermission.
It was a natural hat trick and occurred over a span of just 6:10, the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Final history.
The former Maple Leafs forward, who was often a target of criticism for Toronto’s lack of postseason success, is thriving in his first year since a trade to the Knights.
He now has 27 points this postseason, surpassing Jack Eichel’s franchise mark of 26 in 2023.
Marner has 10 goals and 17 assists for the Knights since the end of the regular season and is the betting favorite to win the Conn Smythe.
