LETTER: Say, “Cheese!”

In response to your Thursday editorial on the First Amendment and filming the police:

I find it a bit aggravating to hear people insist that it is their constitutional right to film police officers while in public, yet they decry the use of public cameras (think: Flock) as an invasion of their privacy. Which is it? Do these people realize that there is no expectation of privacy while in public, including driving on public roadways?

Yes, filming police activity in public is protected by the First Amendment. But driving is a privilege and being recorded while doing so is not an invasion of privacy. These people want to have their cake and eat it, too. Yet they seem not to realize that there are two sides to the coin.
