A baby was born inside Rogers Place during the Golden Knights’ game

A woman gave birth during the second period of Saturday’s game between the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place.

Oh, apologies for the confusion. This didn’t take place at a hospital. It was inside the actual arena.

Sportsnet reported before the start of the third period that a woman went into labor on the seventh floor of the Oilers’ home barn.

A new life coming into the world was the only bright spot for Oilers fans on Saturday. The Knights won 5-1 against their division rivals in the final game of their regular-season series.

No further details have been given whether it was a boy or a girl. You’d have to think the name will have some variation of Connor or Leon in honor of Edmonton’s stars.

It’s not the first time this has happened at a sporting event. A woman gave birth in 2015 while at a San Diego Padres-San Francisco Giants baseball game in Petco Park.

The baby boy was born around the third inning. Fortunately, one of the on-staff nurses at the ballpark was also a midwife.

Someone’s going to have a fun story to tell when they get older.
