LETTER: Of course Donald Trump’s approval rating is low

I was shocked to see Byron York’s May 24 commentary admitting that the president’s approval rating is low. Mr. York deserves congratulations for reporting the truth. Also, yes the Republican Party should see a gloomy result in the midterms. This president has caused nothing but chaos since taking office.

Let’s see: taking over Greenland; renaming the Gulf of Mexico; 100 percent tariffs, then taking them off; making Canada the 51st state, etc. etc.

Of course, more recently we invaded Iran to decimate its nuclear program that we announced previously we had destroyed with our bunker blasters. He never takes responsibility and blaming Joe Biden when he’s up against the wall is getting very old

Never before in my over 70 years of life have I ever been so ashamed of our president and government. I’ve disagreed with previous presidents but never felt so embarrassed by this president’s conduct. I shudder to think how he’ll ruin our country’s 250th birthday.
