An employee of the Metropolitan Police Department was arrested Thursday on a charge of oppression under the color of office, according to Metro arrest records.

Manuel M. Ramangmou, 28, was arrested and booked, though later released on a $2,000 surety bond, according to Las Vegas Justice Court records.

A Metro spokesperson confirmed via email that Ramangmou works with Metro’s Southeast Area Command.

According to Nevada law, an oppression charge would relate to an alleged abuse of the authority of the office the person holds. The circumstances surrounding Ramangmou’s arrest were unclear as of Thursday afternoon.
