Men arrested after shooting of off-duty Las Vegas officer

Two men have been arrested in connection in the Sept. 21 shooting of an off-duty corrections officer in the west Las Vegas Valley.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police Department said Guadalupe Ramirez, 48, and Agustin Ramirez, 51, were arrested Monday.

Guadalupe was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on the following charges: conspiracy to commit murder, attempt murder with a deadly weapon (3 Counts) and discharge a gun at/into an occupied structure (5 Counts).

Agustin was arrested by California law enforcement officials and booked into the Los Angeles County Jail, pending extradition back to Las Vegas, where he will be booked for: conspiracy to commit murder, attempt murder with a with a deadly weapon (3 Counts) and discharge a gun at/into an occupied structure (5 Counts), and carrying a concealed weapon without permit.

Still photographs and video released last week show that a male wearing a half-style helmet, dark green jacket, dark pants and a face covering rode a black electric bicycle through a parking lot on the 7600 block of West Cheyenne Avenue, near North Buffalo Drive, before opening fire and striking the off-duty officer.

The Metro officer, who has yet to be identified, was transported to a local hospital and underwent surgery, police said. The injured officer was in stable condition, according to a news release.
