1 dead, 1 injured in North Las Vegas shooting, police say

A shooting in North Las Vegas left one man dead and another person injured on Monday, police said.

The North Las Vegas Police Department said officers responded just after 2 p.m. to a report of a woman with an apparent gunshot wound at the 2500 block of Ellis Street, near East Carey Avenue and Belmont Street.

At a residence in the area, police said officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe this was an isolated incident involving the two victims,” police said. “There are no outstanding suspects, and there is no known threat to the public.”
