Out-of-state trust claims $78 million Lotto Texas jackpot

The winning ticket for the estimated annuitized $78 million jackpot was purchased at Gordon’s Bait & Tackle in Brownsville ahead of the drawing on Nov. 15, 2025.
The Texas Lottery said Monday that Jua-Ri Trust Agreement Trident Trust Company Inc., of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, claimed the prize on May 8.State lottery officials did not say how many people were a part of the trust or identify the winners. Texas lottery winners can remain anonymous.
The cash value option was selected at the time of purchase, and the claimant received $43,757,223.10 before taxes. After federal taxes of roughly 35%, the trust will collect approximately $28,440,000.Texas does not collect state tax on lottery winnings.
The jackpot was the sixth-largest Lotto Texas jackpot in state history.
Had the ticket not been validated before Thursday, the unclaimed prize would have been allocated to state programs authorized by the Texas Legislature.
